Dean Nguyen
Exercise Scientist & Physio Student
When I first began playing football for my local club at 20 years old, I remember preparing for a 2km time trial and making the rookie mistake of running my hardest for the first 100 metres. During the run, all my teammates passed by me one by one, and I eventually ended up finishing last. These were one of the many moments that sparked my interest in athletic development and understanding sports-specific training.

Since then. I attained a Sports and Exercise Science Degree from La Trobe University and immersed myself in a new lifestyle by training as an athlete. Organisations I have worked with in the past include Maribyrnong Sports Academy, Sandringham Football Club, and ACE Performance. I am most proud of having played Premier League Football (VAFA) alongside many state-league and ex-AFL players. Another achievement is currently working towards my Masters of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University.

When I’m not in the gym teaching good squat technique or going for a max effort on the bench press, you can find me sipping on a chai latte while listening to 50 cent.
